The HDP welcomes three partners DENYS, UNStudio, and Mercon to the program

HDP has signed agreements with three new partners to join the network of the Hyperloop Development Program with Denys (as Core Program Partner), UNStudio (as Work Package Partner), and Mercon (as Work Package Partner). They join the growing consortium of public and private partners that was formed in 2020 – consisting of more than 15 partners such as TATA Steel, POSCO, BAM and others – to develop the hyperloop.

Denys

Denys will use their multi-disciplinary expertise, with a focus on pipe laying and tunneling, to help build the hyperloop above and underground in cooperation with the other HDP partners.

UNStudio

Since early 2018 UNStudio works with Hardt Hyperloop on a design vision for the European Hyperloop stations of the future, and a study of urban integration for the Hyperloop across cities and towns of different sizes. Joining the Hyperloop Development Program is and logical and exciting next step to contribute to the integration and realization of the Hyperloop in Europe.

UNStudio, founded in 1988 by Ben van Berkel and Caroline Bos, is a Dutch architectural design studio specialising in architecture, interior architecture, product design, urban development and UX Design. The name, UNStudio, stands for United Network Studio referring to the collaborative nature of the practice. UNStudio is involved in numerous mobility projects. Since the foundation of the practice, mobility has consistently been part of UNStudio’s DNA. From the Erasmus Bridge, to our first masterplan for Arnhem Central Station to the Mercedes Benz Museum – a true homage to mobility – most of our milestone projects demonstrate our special interest in this topic.

Mercon

Mercon got involved in the project for further improvement of the design, production, assembly for a 36m infrastructure prototype. Mercon has developed and produced an installation rig, fabricated and assembled flange connections and assembled all internals to three 12m long tubes. These tubes and internals were aligned within the highest tolerances and mounted, together with an expansion joint. The prototype is located and showcased in June 2021 at the location of BuildinG in Groningen.

Mercon is an international multidisciplinary contractor active in the maintenance and new build of tank storage, infrastructure (bridges and sluices), industrial services and special projects. Hyperloop is one of the special projects. Mercon stands for working together in a multidisciplinary safe technical work environment

Collaboration

The Hyperloop Development Program is a public-private partnership, between the Dutch Ministries of Economics & Climate and Infrastructure & Water Management, the Dutch Province of Groningen and a group of industry parties and knowledge and research institutions, dedicated to develop hyperloop as a safe, sustainable and commercially viable mode of high-speed transportation and to bring the hyperloop to commercialization.
